Previous Co-Head Writer Ryan Quan & Sheri Anderson Thomas, who wrote for "Guiding Light, "Santa Barbara," and GH, will both be Creative Consultants.

On Friday, February 24, 2017, Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami) underwent surgery to repair the ACL on her right knee, which she had injured while skiing in December.

On February 21, 2017, NBC announced that it has renewed "Days of Our Lives" for Season 52.

On Thursday, February 9, Joseph Mascolo last appeared as Days' Stefano, filmed before his death on December 7, 2016. In the episode, Marlena (Deidre Hall), Rafe (Galen Gering) & Leann Hunley (Anna) confront him about his transgressions against them through the years. In a special video, Mascolo's long-time castmates share their memories of the late actor.

Kassie DePaiva (ex-Eve, Days; ex-Blair, OLTL), who was diagnosed in 2016 with acute myeloid leukemia, announced on February 4, 2017, that she is now cancer free!

The pre-nom results were announced on January 25 with 10 in each category moving forward to Blue Ribbon voting for which actors can submit 20 minutes from up to 4 episodes. The final nominations will be announced on Wednesday, March 22. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards show will be on April 28 while the 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards to be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 both at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.

Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric, Days) and his wife, actress Danneel Harris Ackles (ex-Shannon, OLTL) welcomed, a boy and a girl named Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes, who joined big sis, JJ, on December 2, 2016.

Arianne Zucker Breaks Her Silence About the Donald Trump Scandal

Billy Flynn (Chad) married actress Gina Lynn Comparetto on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Saddle Rock Ranch, in the hills of Malibu, CA.

Drake Hogestyn was injured on May 5, 2016 on the Days set while filming a stunt that required him to "break" through a prop door that "had not been properly prepared." When he "ran full speed," he "smashed headfirst" into it suffering "severe head injuries" requiring hospitalization. He returned to the set of the show on September 27.

On September 11, 2016, Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy, Days) took home the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for her work on "Acting Dead." 

Camila Banus (Gabi, Days) injured her foot during a Parkour exercise class in August, 2016.

Kassie DePaiva (Eve) announced in August, 2016, that she has been in treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia for a month which will continue over the next 3 months. She believes her prognosis is good and will not likely need a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, expecting a complete cure.  For more, click here.

Chrishell Stause (Bethany, Y&R; ex-Jordan, Days; ex-Amanda, AMC) & Justin Hartley (Adam, Y&R; ex-Nicholas, Passions) became engaged at the end of July 2016 after being together for 2-1/2 years. She just celebrated her 35th birthday on July 21. He is 39 with a 12-year-old daughter, Isabella, with ex-wife Lindsay.

Jordi Vilasuso (Dario, Days; ex-Griffin, AMC; ex-Tony, GL) and his wife, Kaitlin, welcomed their second daughter on July 15, 2016, named Everly Maeve Vilasuso. They have a daughter, Riley Grace, 3.

The 68th Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Patrika Darbo (Nancy, Days) was nominated as Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for her role in the online show "Acting Dead." To see the full list, click here. The third novel from Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, Days), Opportunity Knocks, was released on April 5, 2016.

Natalia Livingston (ex-Emily, GH; ex-Taylor, Days) announced her engagement to Dr. Matt Aldag, a neuroscientist and science writer, on March 23, 2016.

Peter Brown (ex-Dr. Greg Peters, Days; ex-Blake Hayes, B&B; ex-Robert Laurence, Y&R; ex-Roger Forbes, Loving; ex-Charles Sanders III, OLTL) passed away at 80 on March 21, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by his wife Kerstin and two sons, Matthew & Joshua.

NBC has renewed "Days of Our Lives" for its 51st season until September 2017, with an option for an additional year. Due to the network's dislike of the present 5-month-ahead taping schedule, the show is now on a 5-week hiatus and will resume filming on Monday, April 4.

Josh Griffith has left the writing staff of Days of Our Lives. Ryan Quan is now Co-Head Writer with Dena Higley.

Jordi Vilasuso (Dario, Days; ex-Griffin, AMC; ex-Tony, GL) and his wife, Kaitlin, are expecting their second child in July. They have a daughter, Riley Grace, 3.

Casey Moss (JJ, Days) and his band "Eyes for One" have released their first full length album, "BeneathTheTruth," which contains 10 songs and can be purchased on iTunes.

Matthew Ashford (Jack) and his girlfriend Lana Buss had a daughter, Willa, on November 30, 2015. Willa joins brother Henry and two half-sisters, Grace & Emma.

Jen Lilley (Theresa, Days) released a Christmas CD on Tuesday, November 24, which includes many holiday classics as well as "Baby It's Cold Outside," her duet with Eric Martsolf (Brady) released last year. If you order it on her website, you'll also receive a personalized Christmas card.

On Monday, October 26, Casey Moss (JJ, Days), 21, was drinking at the W Scottsdale Hotel in Arizona when he tried to punch a bartender who refused to continue serving him. A friend went to hold him back, but he made his way free and shoved a fellow bar patron then was tackled by the bar's bouncer. Finally he struggled with police officers. Once he was handcuffed, he was asked his name and cursed & yelled "I'm Casey Moss, and I'm an actor on Days of Our Lives!" He was released from jail on Tuesday and is facing charges for assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He was in Scottsdale for the book signing of "Days of Our Lives 50 Years" with his costars.
UPDATE: At the pre-trial conference on Friday, November 20, Casey Moss plead guilty to disorderly conduct, and the other two charges were dismissed. People Collector's Edition 2015

Alison Sweeney (Sami) & James Scott (ex-EJ) were reunited on HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" after ABC news reported about Noujain Mustafa who, despite being wheelchair-bound, left her home in Kobani, a war-torn Syrian town, and traveled to the Serbian border, hoping to get to Germany. Mustafa revealed that she learned to speak English by watching Days, and that Sami and EJ were her favorite characters. On his show, Oliver hilariously recounted the story of the duo's turbulent romance, then aired a newly taped scene between the actors, where the characters reunited after EJ's "death."

Will To Sonny: I Remember!
Sonny’s dream of reconciling with his ex-husband finally shows signs of becoming a reality when Will has a memory of their wedding day. This week, Sonny, once again, professes his love to Will, and Will reiterates that he can’t return those feelings and is totally committed to Paul. However, Will later has a major memory of his and Sonny’s wedding day. When he runs into Sonny, Will reveals what he recalled. Sonny urges Will to remember more. Then suddenly, Will does when all of his memories come flooding back, and he completely remembers his love for Sonny. Things get even better when the twosome seals the special moment with a kiss. Yet, there’s still one major obstacle: Paul.

Ted’s Blackmail Scheme Exposed!
The jig is up for Ted when Will shows up at Kate’s to get the money to pay off his blackmailer, just as the scoundrel in question emerges from her shower. When Will leaves, Kate tells Ted that she has no intention of paying his price. Then, she blasts him for blackmailing her grandson and forces Ted to choose between her and the money. Kate is absolutely livid, especially when Ted asks if she’s going to pay up or send her beloved grandson to prison. However, by week’s end, Kate seems willing to pay off Ted to save Will. Then she totally stuns Ted by pulling a gun on him.

But Tripp doesn’t want to hear it and tells Ben to get out. Ciara then asks Ben to move in with them. When Claire returns home, Tripp says she should have the deciding vote, and she agrees that Ben can stay.

Marlena Hypnotizes Ben!
In order to remember everything that happened the night of the fire, Ben asks Marlena to hypnotize him. During the session, Ben has total recall and is certain he is not guilty. Ben heads to the loft to share the news with Ciara. Tripp opens the door to Ben, and it’s tense between the men. Ben then relays to Ciara what happened with Marlena. Tripp is skeptical, but Ciara does believe him. Hope, meanwhile, talks to Marlena and urges the doc to recommend that Ben be recommitted. Marlena says she can’t because she doesn’t believe that Ben started the fire. A frustrated Hope later summons Ben to the station and offers to drop the case against him if he will leave Salem. Ben considers it, then goes to talk to Ciara again.

Sonny comes clean with Paul.
Abigail is jealous of Gabi and Chad.
Tripp is stunned by Claire’s decision.

Victor instructs Eve to mend fences between him and his grandson.

Ben asks Marlena for help. Will and Sonny are confronted by Ted. Jennifer hears what Kayla has to say. Lucas and Chloe discuss their relationship.

Linsey Godfrey (ex-Caroline, B&B) joins the cast as Sarah Horton, who was last seen in 1991.

Preview: Abby tries to fix things with Chad. He's very confused but decides to try to live with the fact that she's pregnant with Stefan's child. He confides his feelings to Kate.

7/30 Victor tells Maggie the truth. Ciara and Ben share a close encounter. 7/31 Steve is hired by Adrienne to find Bonnie.
